  • I can analyze economic issues such as industrialization, the rise of entrepreneurship, the pros and cons of big business and the philanthropy of industrialists such as Andrew Carnegie.
Language Objectives:
  • I will use a paragraph frame to write about the pros and cons about big business.
  • I will use an annotation strategy to comprehend text read silently about the pros and cons of Robber Barons/Captains of Industry.

CAUSES OF INDUSTRIALIZATION: THE PAPER FACTORY.
This simulation will give you the sense of what is needed for nations to industrialize. ​

Procedure:  


1. Students receive role cards.
2. Divide into four groups ( Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D) based on the role cards and organize your countries.




Questions to keep in mind as you complete the simulation:


1. What were the four things that Country D had that no one else had?
2. Can you think of what each of the items stood for?
